March 2026 (Vintage 2020)

Huge aromas. Dense and dark as a forest in the dead of night. Blackcurrant, bramble, graphite, plums, something meaty and animal too, and blackcurrant leaf. Huge in the mouth too, the wine slips and slides across the tongue, and eventually lands with fairly substantial tannic might and a pulse of deep plummy perfume, like a bubble rising to the surface. Matured in barrels, 30%-50% of which were new oak. Drinking window might be conservative, but the sweet delectable fruit is so delicious that I'm inclined to say enjoy it in its relative youth.

November 2020 (Vintage 2017)

From the home estate of Madiran's guru Alain Brumont, the wine is a rich blend of Tannat, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Still so young but with great potential, it is a ripe, black fruit and spice flavored wine, a fine summation of greatness in Madiran. The tannins are still dense and the wine needs plenty of time.

December 2025 (Vintage 2020)

Driven yet elegant, showing currants, spiced cherries, bark and warm spices on the nose, following through to a medium body with fine, firm tannins. Focused, structured and refined, offering velvety texture and a long, subtle finish. Tannat, cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc.

September 2021 (Vintage 2016)

This new release from Alain Brumont has richness, spice and attractive wood-aging flavors. They go well with the succulent black fruits, backdrop of tannins and final perfumed acidity.
