About this winery

The Confuron-Cotétidot name began in 1964 with the union of legendary winemaker Jean-Jacques "Jacky" Confuron to Bernadette Cotétidot. Jacky has since relinquished day-to-day operation of the Domaine to his two very capable oenologist sons, Yves and Jean-Pierre. With old vines spread over four villages in the Côte de Nuits, this is a very impressive array of Village, Premier and Grand Cru sites. This stony site is comparatively warm, despite its proximity to the cool breezes of Combe de Lavaux, but there’s no sense of jamminess here. Floral, heady and intense, with classic whole bunch aromas of clove spice and tobacco, this is balanced, nuanced and concentrated with fine tannins and plenty of grip.

January 2016 (Vintage 2014)

Picked comparatively late, as Yves Confuron’s wines generally are, this comes from a single parcel of 0.5 hectares and shows the effects of cooling breezes from the Hautes Côtes. Juicy, crunchy and spicy, with marked whole bunch character and hints of iodine and green malt. 2019-27
