Production notes

The hand-picked harvest goes through a short pre-fermentary maceration before being vinified. For the duration of the 18-20 day vatting period, the wine is kept at low temperature, then matured in oak barrels for 14 to 16 months. The proportion of new oak, which changes according to the vintage, represents on average one half of the cuvée.

Allan Meadows, January 2010 (Vintage 2002)

This displays a lovely balance of moderate wood influence with lightly spiced earthy red berry fruit aromas that merge seamlessly into seductive, supple and mouth coating middle weight flavors that are surprisingly approachable yet firm up quickly on the impressively persistent finish.
