March 2022 (Vintage 2018)

Seriously good even so young, the scintillating 2018 Apogee is entirely sourced from the acclaimed Pepper Bridge vineyard. A blend of 56% Cabernet Sauvignon with smaller parts of Merlot, Malbec and Cabernet Franc, this inky-colored bottling unveils heady graphite, black currant jelly, crème de violette, tar and Turkish coffee flavors, while firm tannins bind everything nicely. Refined and elegant, yet showing a hedonistic bent, this outstanding bottling is already nicely evolved after a two-hour decant and will surely provide drinking enjoyment for another 20 years to come.
