2017
When Laura Catena decided to create a line of wines of her very own, she made a conscious decision to pay tribute to the traditional, small, family, growers and to a group of special vineyard sites in Mendoza, Argentina. The name La Posta refers to La Posta del Viñotero – ‘the Tavern of the Grape Grower’, found in every local village where farmers go to get their mail after a hard day in the vineyards. There, they meet to drink wine, laugh, and tell stories, agreeing to agree or disagree...

See detailed press reviewThey get about 35,000 bottles of this bonarda from a 6-hectare pergola-trained vineyard that responded very well to this very cool year in Mendoza. Here the acidity of a cold year marks the fruit and lends tension, but the flavors continue to be very bonarda-very lush.
See detailed press reviewMany Argentine bonardas are soft and pleasant at best, stand-ins for simple Beaujolais. This one is more ambitious, with a tense, mineral core surrounded by scents of black fruits and spice. It’s substantial enough to serve with morcilla.

See detailed press reviewDark red-ruby. Inviting high-pitched aromas of blackberry, dark raspberry, bitter chocolate and violet. Densely packed, fine-grained and sweet; a fresh, firm fruit bomb of a Bonarda with just a bit of the variety's leathery funk leavened by a violet topnote. From vines that are more than 80 years of age. Finishes with sneaky rising length and firm, smooth tannins. A stunning value.
See detailed press review...this is a pure example of Bonarda. Generous on blackberry notes, black pepper and sweet strawberry flavours, open this one for your next barbecue.
Cherry and plum aromas are ripe, sweet and inviting. There’s plenty of body and roundness to this Bonarda, while exotic blueberry and boysenberry flavors finish fresh, with a light herbal aftertaste. Overall this shows lots of fruit and good balance. Vine Connections. -M.S.
