Product notes

Clear, sunny days and cool nights produced the perfect ripening conditions leading up to a successful 2014 harvest. Apart from a limited period of unseasonal rain, the region remained very dry right throughout the summer months and into early autumn. In fact, we commenced harvest of most varieties at least one week early and all of our Sauvignon Blanc blocks were in ideal condition. This year’s wines are showing the wonderful typicity for which Marlborough is renowned for, revealing highly aromatic notes of passionfruit and guava with a finely balanced vibrant acidity.

Production notes

Sauvignon Blanc from both our Seaview Vineyard and Wairau Valley Vineyard were selected to blend this wine. The parcels were harvested individually over a period of seven days. The fruit was crushed, de-stemmed and gently pressed. The juice was cold settled for 72 hours, after which the clear juice was racked off. A cool fermentation in stainless steel followed, to capture and enhance the natural fruit flavours. Each of the individual parcels were fermented separately using a range of selected yeasts, they were then blended, stabilised and filtered prior to bottling.

Tasting notes

The bouquet shows notes of stone fruit and guava, underpinned with notes of fresh herbs. The palate is brimming with zingy fruit that is balanced with a long, crisp mineral finish. Enjoy with seafood, chicken, salads or pasta dishes. Enjoy now or cellar for up to 2 years.

Racy, pungent, mouthwatering.
I love the name land made, because wine comes from the land, with a little help from man, of course.

It is a racy and precise wine that will have your mouth watering before your first sip. Notes of mineral, saline, gooseberry, passionfruit lime, lemongrass and green apples pop out of the glass. It is mouthwatering, pungent and razor sharp. A lengthy and honest savvy, which will make you pucker up.

Bright, very pale straw colour, with slight green hues. The nose is elegant and well-proportioned with soft aromas of pungent passionfruit melded harmoniously with notes of tropical fruits, fresh herbs and suggestions of minerals. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has a rounded, dense and relatively deep and concentrated core of pungent passionfruit, green capsicums and herbs. The flavours ae up-front and the palate has the energy and body to form a soft-textured, positively driven core, with lacy acidity providing liveliness. The wine carries to an elegant, lingering finish of passionfruit and herbs. This is an up-front, soft and rounded, well-packed Sauvignon Blanc with passionfruit, herb and capsicum flavours with good freshness.
