About this winery

Olivier Humbrecht is one of the world's most renowned winegrowers. He is a Master of Wine and has been described by Robert Parker as the greatest white winemaker on earth. Yet he is very soft spoken, humble, and self-deprecating, which makes him perfectly suited to his assumed role as a global ambassador of wine. He is a champion of terroir, biodynamic farming principles, and non-interventionist winemaking, whose family have been winegrowers in Alsace for 12 generations (since 1620). He is...

Product notes

Both vineyards used to produce this village wine are located on the edge of the Herrenweg area in Turckheim, on slightly richer silt/loam soils that enjoy a very warm microclimate. The respect for the vine and soil is very important for Olivier and is team of vineyard workers. All viticultural work is carried out by hand with the help of some horses to plough the vineyards with minimum impact of the soil. All vineyards have been certified organic and biodynamic since 2002.

Production notes

All wines are fermented in traditional oak vats using native yeasts. No additives are used, and chaptalization is never carried out. The wines are left on their lees and ferment at there own pace, the wines are not fined. Very little sulfites are added and the wines are bottled after at least 6 months on the lees.

Tasting notes

This wine is very expressive with layers of floral and exotic fruit aromas and the signature mint notes. On the palate, the acidity is very refreshing and a long dry finish.

May 2024 (Vintage 2022)

Very fresh and bright with effusive pink grapefruit and lilac aromas from the warm, dry growing season. I love this wine’s zesty personality and the wonderful mineral freshness that gives the long finish a terrific kick. This almost pure muscat a petits grains. From biodynamically grown grapes.

August 2022 (Vintage 2020)

A real charmer! Very bright, floral, crisp and sleek for Alsace. Lively acidity (no malolactic here!) enables it to dance its way light-footedly through the long, refreshing finish that pulls you back for more. From the alluvial Herrenweg vineyard of Turckheim and overwhelmingly from muscat a petits grains, with only a small amount of muscat ottonel. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drink now.
