Toro Vetus 2011

- 93 points -

The Anton family, owners of Izadi in Rioja and Finca Villacreces in Ribera del Duero, established Vetus in 2003, planting 50 acres of tinta de toro. This 2011 is so flavorful and ripe that it tastes like a chocolate that slowly melts in the mouth, but black chocolate, with a slight bitterness and a luscious, fruity flavor. Decant it for braised rabo de toro (oxtail stew).
