Saint-Véran La Combe Des Roches 2018

Hints of pineapple and exotic nuances suffuse the white and yellow orchard fruit, citrus and tangerine-scented nose. There is very good richness to the solidly voluminous flavors that display a caressing and seductive mid-palate before terminating in a noticeably warm and slightly oily finish. This mildly rustic effort is probably best consumed on the younger side as I worry that the warmth might become more prominent with age.

About Burghound.com

Burghound.com is the result of a nearly lifelong passion for the wines of Burgundy. For more than 30 years, I have been collecting the wines and visiting the region. Each year I spend nearly five months visiting, researching, tasting, exploring and evaluating. Burgundy is my obsession really. Expanding on my coverage of the coveted pinot noir grape, each issue provides continuous coverage of both Oregon and California pinot noir, with rotating coverage of Champagne and occasional special reports from other pinot producing regions.
