This could be termed the bargain of the Chave lineup. Jean-Louis is working on rebuilding the old terraces of St. Joseph, where the granite terroir is very similar to that of Hermitage. This is firm and youthful, with intense peppery red fruit and firm tannins, but with more accessibility than the Hermitage. It's a lovely glass of wine.
