Another rich sangiovese, this one with ten percent merlot barrique-aged, and from the big 2015 vintage, is in need of another five years to settle into itself. Despite the tannin and austerity there is a tangy freshness with spicy, cherry, earthy, tobacco notes that should carry with time. A wild look at sangiovese, serve now with grilled meats and mushrooms if you are in a hurry to open this one.
