This. This is why chardy is the greatest grape in the world. And Burgundy the zenith. Because even in a fringe region (up in the hilly clay limestone cliffs of Saint Romain at 400m altituede) this ia property studied by monks of the 10th century. Earthy and savoury, with stony, flake salts, citrus pith and a wash of fresh saline, this is a structural wine that reflects these 1960s vines of Saint Romain. An organically farmed wine is the result of the blend of old vines from "Combe Bazin" and " Sous Roches ".
