After a number of slightly leaner-styled years, the components of the 2015 Hermitage show more depth of juicy fruit and generosity. Although characteristically straight and saline, even L’Ermite has some fat on its bones this year. “When Ermite is strong, it opens up possibilities,” says Jean-Louis regarding blending. Will we see a Cuvée Cathelin this year? We’ll have to wait another couple of years to find out. But either way, this is looking like an irresistible, sumptuous Hermitage. 2025-2045
