Bierzo Altos de Losada 2009

- 92 points -

Deep, brilliant ruby. Deeply pitched dark berry preserve and licorice scents are lifted by intense mineral and Asian spice notes. Smoky, sweet and concentrated, showing excellent energy to its blackberry, cherry-cola and floral pastille flavors. The mineral quality comes back strong on the long finish, which features dusty tannins and emphatic dark berry and violet character. This one looks to be a good cellar candidate.
