Mâcon-Vinzelles Le Clos de Grand-Père 2015

(this fruit, which was harvested on August 29, gained a full degree in potential alcohol during its last day on the vines, according to Jean-Guillaume Bret, to 14.5%): Enticing aromas of crystallized lemon and lime. At once rich and juicy, showing serious concentration and a firm texture. There's a bit more sweet oak presence here than in the La Verchère but this wine was actually 90% done in cuve and the rest in old barrels. It was still carrying four grams of residual sugar when I tasted it in September but Bret was confident that it would finish fully dry.
