Oldfield Reserve Cabernet Franc 2013

- 91 points -

Fresh, stylish, balance.
A flagship variety for Tinhorn, they do well by it. This vintage it offers fresh red plum aromas with currants, roasted red bell peppers, licorice, toasted spice vanilla and dried herbs. It is a stylish wine with a smooth entry. Flavours of red fruit, bittersweet cocoa, spice and leather are underscored by a saline character. It has some textural tannic structure to lend it a chewiness and overall great balance.

Pair: Hearty pastas with tomato ragu, game meats or bean chili.

About Wine Scores

What is a wine score and how do wine reviewers (I don’t refer to myself as a wine critic, I review wine, I don't criticize it) decide on that score?
A wine score is a numerical rating wine reviewers give to a wine based on a series of elements. Every wine reviewer (or wine critic) has their own method of getting to a conclusive number even if they use similar guidelines to one another.
