Oldfield Series Syrah 2013

- 92 points -

Seductive, complex, fresh.
Tinhorn Creek's Syrah is consistently on-point. This vintage it rolls out seductive aromas of bumbleberry compote (a summer's bounty of blackberry, strawberry, blueberry and rhubarb), spice leather, wild herbs and finely ground white pepper. Fresh high-toned berry flavours mimic the nose; it is supple with impressive structure and culminates in a coffee, peppery and earthy finish. A New World meets Old World style.

Pair:: BBQ ribs, smoked pork chops, grilled prime beef and aged goat's cheese.

About Wine Scores

What is a wine score and how do wine reviewers (I don’t refer to myself as a wine critic, I review wine, I don't criticize it) decide on that score?
A wine score is a numerical rating wine reviewers give to a wine based on a series of elements. Every wine reviewer (or wine critic) has their own method of getting to a conclusive number even if they use similar guidelines to one another.
