Juin 2024 (Millésime 2022)

(from 40+ year old vines from a huge 2.5 ha parcel in Genevrières Dessus). Firm reduction masks all the aromas except an interesting hint of exotic tea. There is again both good vibrancy and freshness to the finer still, but not denser, medium weight flavors that are almost delicate yet certainly don’t lack for punch as the strikingly long finale is almost painfully intense. This is bone-dry but not especially austere and overall, one very classy wine. Buy it if you can find it.

Juin 2025 (Millésime 2023)

(from 40+ year old vines from a huge 2.5 ha parcel in Genevrières Dessus). A naturally exotic nose of jasmine tea, gardenia, smoked apple and a variety of citrus nuances. There is fine volume to the super-sleek and strikingly textured medium weight flavors that exude an appealing bead of minerality on the lightly austere and wonderfully persistent finish that is also impeccably well-balanced. Excellent.

Juin 2023 (Millésime 2021)

(from 40+ year old vines from a huge 2.5 ha parcel in Genevrières Dessus). A cool, pure and elegant array of lilac, lavender, lemon rind and green apple scents displays a wisp of exotic spiced tea. Much like the palate impression of the Charmes, the unusually rich and voluminous medium weight flavors completely coat the palate with sappy dry extract which again buffers the firm acid backbone on the focused, complex and beautifully persistent finish where a hint of bitter lemon arises. This is at once lacy and refined yet powerful while also remaining extremely promising - it should amply repay a decade plus of cellaring.

Juin 2022 (Millésime 2020)

Like the Poruzots, there is a noticeable phenolic character to the slightly riper aromas of jasmine tea, white peach and floral nuances. The gorgeously textured medium weight flavors possess excellent mid-palate density along with ample minerality that adds a sense of lift to the bone-dry, moderately austere and impressively long finale. This too will need to develop more depth though, if it does, it could well merit the upper end of my projected range as this is really quite stylish.
