Finally, a fulsome yet lithe rosé from well-regarded Southern Okanagan Valley winery Tinhorn Creek. Produced from 100% Cabernet Franc grown in the winery’s Diamondback Vineyard on the Black Sage Bench, the wine is pressed after 24 hours on skins to achieve its fetching bright peachy-pink colour. It shows layers of berry, citrus and floral notes – with a rich texture complementing the wine’s lifted aromatics. It’s enticing and crowd-pleasing, indeed this wine recently won “Best Rosé” at the BC Best of Varietal competition during the Spring Okanagan Wine Festival. Bottom line: A-, pair with roast chicken.
