- Malbec Finca Remota - 2015

Malbec Finca Remota 2015

(14.5% alcohol; from 65+-year-old vines in a single vineyard featuring a strong calcaire element): Deep ruby. Showing more oak on the nose today than the 2015 Unus, along with black cherry, cassis and graphite nuances. Plusher and more pliant on the palate than the 2014 Finca Remota, partly a function of the sweet oak influence but also due to the wine's strong fruit and less obvious inkiness. A superb example of Malbec, with mineral-tinged black fruit flavors displaying terrific inner-mouth definition and lift. Finishes very long, with serious dusty tannins and a lingering note of licorice. This is even creamier and deeper than the Unus.
