(from a crop level of 28 hectoliters per hectare): Bright, light yellow with gold reflections. Perfumed aromas of orange oil and white truffle complicated by biscuity and smoky nuances (the Bret brothers do not use new barrels because they don't want to make oaky wines). A pure, penetrating, lemony expression of calcaire on the palate; almost painful in the early going but not hard. This will need several more years in the cellar to open up and become pliant. Finishes with a flavor of lemon curd. Jean-Guillaume Bret expects that this climat will eventually be given premier cru status.
