Oldfield Reserve Cabernet Franc 2014

- 92 points -

What used to be the Oldfield Series, is now Oldfield Reserve. It comes with a new label look, and the change (label colour/design and name) is not depicted in the attached photo. Cabernet Franc is one of Tinhorn's flagship wines, and new winemaker Andrew Windsor (since 2014) has continued Sandra Oldfield's work, continuously striving to make it better. Expect fragrant aromas of blueberry compote, wild currents, violets and woodsy aromas alongside mocha, cherry cola and dried sage. The palate is savoury; fleur de sel and dried herbs, peppery spices and dark mocha flavours roll into distinct tealeaf notes. Overall, structure and balance are rooted firmly in this wine, and it has a lengthy finish.

À propos de Wine Scores

What is a wine score and how do wine reviewers (I don’t refer to myself as a wine critic, I review wine, I don't criticize it) decide on that score?
A wine score is a numerical rating wine reviewers give to a wine based on a series of elements. Every wine reviewer (or wine critic) has their own method of getting to a conclusive number even if they use similar guidelines to one another.
