About this winery

Winemaking notes

The elders from the village of Chardonnay, near Tournus, will tell you that their village gave its name to the famous Burgundy variety. The one sure thing is that Chardonnay comes from the Latin word Cardus, which means thistle, a spiky annual plant very well adapted to limestone soils. The village of Chardonnay lies on limestone. A wonderful, succulent wine with an explosive bouquet, guided by the terroir’s natural tension.

Tasting notes

This dry, medium-bodied and fruity white displays a complex and medium nose. On the palate, its refreshing acidity and broad texture precede a medium finish.

Stephane Tanzer,

Bright straw-yellow color. Aromas of yellow peach, candied lemon peel and smoky minerality, plus a suggestion of toast, with hints of exotic fruits emerging with aeration. The wine's lemon and white peach flavors display lovely cut and precision, with the white chalky soil giving the wine excellent inner-mouth tension. This juicy, leanish, lightly saline wine finishes with noteworthy energy and verve.
