Family who, through risk-taking, faith and a little luck, transformed their treasured Mendoza terroir into the fountainhead of the award-winning...

March 2018 (Vintage 2016)

Deep and complex on the nose with a ton of black fruits with delicate spice and cocoa powder notes. Rich and plush with plenty of finesse at the long creamy finish. The second vintage for this great-value-for-money blend of Malbec with Charbono and Petit Verdot.

May 2023 (Vintage 2021)

A very racy and focused nose full of red fruit. High intensity of red berries, strawberries and hibiscus flowers with a hint of coffee. Ripe on the palate with red fruit and sweet, polished tannins. Supple and juicy finish. Delicious now.

September 2022 (Vintage 2021)

The 2021 Tinto Histórico DV Catena is a blend of 75% Malbec, 18% Bonarda and 7% Petit Verdot from Luján de Cuyo and the Uco Valley and was aged for eight months in new and used barrels. It’s garnet red in the glass. The ripe, liqueur-like nose offers sour cherry and plum notes leavened by fresh herbal notes over a pleasant secondary layer from the aging process. Quite smooth with good volume, the flow is juicy yet a little compressed in the mouth.

November 2022 (Vintage 2021)

The 2021 DV Catena Tinto Histórico was produced with a blend of 75% Malbec, 18% Bonarda and 7% Petit Verdot matured in oak barrels for eight to 14 months, depending on the lot, as the grapes were vinified and aged separately. It has a medium-bodied palate and enough spice and tastiness to keep the juicy, fruit-driven profile. It finishes long, clean and tasty in a classical style. 138,000 bottles were filled in June 2022.

May 2018 (Vintage 2016)

The second release of this pan-Mendoza cuvée of Malbec, Bonarda and Petit Verdot, made as a tribute to the early days of the Catena winery, is supple, ripe and sweet, all bramble and raspberry fruit with an overlay of scented, spicy oak.
