December 2015There is a new, top-of-the-range Cabernet Sauvignon, called 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Würm; it is a textbook Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon from Alto Maipo, but in reality it has some grapes from Alto Cachapoal from their Grillos Cantores vineyad. The nose has herbal aromas, notes of graphite, meat and blackberries. The palate is ultra-polished with sophisticated, fine tannins, and very good acidity and balance; it is tasty, long and chalky. This is textbook Maipo Cabernet with a fresh twist in a ripe and warm vintage. A triumph over the natural conditions of the growing season. 2,400 bottles produced.
