About this winery

In 2008, Dr. Madaiah Revana went to Argentina seeking to add to his family of estate wineries which includes Revana Family Vineyard in Napa Valley and Alexana Winery in Oregon’s Willamette Valley. Notes about product

Pure rock soils, intense UV radiation and high-elevation compound to develop elegant complexities of aromatics and texture that are rarely associated with Mendoza. Cultivated in the Uco Valley in Mendoza on the eastern side of the Andes Mountains, the vines enjoy over 300 days of sunshine a year. The 17 acres of estate vineyard are planted at the base of the Andes at an elevation of 3,000 feet. A visually stunning background, the Andes are also responsible for the incredibly deep, alluvial soils which define this estate vineyard. Made up of rock and sand which has eroded from the Andes Mountains over millennia, these soils are extremely deep and well drained, resulting in wines of great complexity, power and finesse.

Winemaking notes

Each cluster was hand-harvested and individually berry sorted from the ‘Revana Vineyard’ and fermented separately with the objective to produce a world class blend of power and elegance that reflects the unique high-elevation terroir of Los Chacayes. Aged for 18 months in in 160 & 225 liter French Oak barrels 50% 1st use & 50% 2nd use.

Tasting notes

Aromas of violets, black currants, plums and cacao. The palate is bursting with fresh raspberry, currants, black cherry and cassis.

May 2018

Plummy and minty with notes of choc-covered blueberries. Fresh and firm in the mouth with savoury, herbaceous spiked dark fruit. Long dry finish.

The 2014 Soleado is a Bordeaux blend of 49% Malbec, 31% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Cabernet Franc from alluvial soils from Chacayes. It fermented in stainless steel and matured in new and used French oak barrels for 18 months. It has a creamy and herbal nose, quite classical, with balance between power, concentration and elegance, ripe without excess.
