About this winery

When Laura Catena decided to create a line of wines of her very own, she made a conscious decision to pay tribute to the traditional, small, family, growers and to a group of special vineyard sites in Mendoza, Argentina. The name La Posta refers to La Posta del Viñotero – ‘the Tavern of the Grape Grower’, found in every local village where farmers go to get their mail after a hard day in the vineyards. There, they meet to drink wine, laugh, and tell stories, agreeing to agree or disagree...

November 2016

I love the perfume and freshness to this with flower and blackberry undertones. Medium body, fine tannins and an underlying firmness and balance.

Luis Gutierrez, November 2022 (Vintage 2021)

The varietal 2021 Fazzio Malbec has an extra degree of freshness, depth and complexity, reflecting a cooler year in a cooler place, with violet and raspberry aromas and a medium-bodied palate with balance, freshness and very good acidity. It's a pure and direct high-altitude Malbec.

June 2018

Domingo Fazzio has a 15-year-old vineyard in the Cardón del Plata zone on the border with Gualtallary in Tupungato. That's where winemaker Estela Perintetti gets one of her tensest malbecs with firm acidity. And it's all accentuated in a cool vintage lik 2016. There are oaky notes here, but it also has notes of red fruits framed by a fine, razor-sharp acidity.

Layered and fruity with firm and chewy tannins. Medium body. Flavorful finish. Juicy.

November 2018

Dry berry-fruit aromas come with wild but controlled notes of leather and animal. A fresh palate is medium in weight and concentration, with crisp black-plum and cherry flavors supported by smooth tannins. A similarly fresh finish is consistent with the rest of this Malbec.

October 2020

A Malbec from Tupungato, 50% aged in used barrels. The fragrant nose offers notes of plum and red currant at first, followed by secondary aromas of wood and herbs. Fleshy on the palate, it flows well, delivering a terse texture, well-defined flavors and a pleasant final perfume.
