December 2019

A well-knit Champagne, lightly honeyed, with a creamy mousse and finely meshed flavors of glazed apricot, lemon curd and pastry dough. Backed by refreshing, juicy acidity, this features a clean-cut and aromatic finish of elderflower and oyster shell.

Although this wine is labeled Brut, it is in fact right at the driest end of that category. Bone dry, therefore, while full of white fruits and crisp lemon zest flavors. The texture is tight, steely and speaks strongly of the chalk of the soil. It is still young, so this vintage wine can be drunk now for its fruitiness or left until 2016 for a more rounded, toasty character. - Roger Voss

Antonio Galloni, December 2017 (Vintage 2012)

The 2012 Brut Blanc de Blancs Cuvée Gastronome 1er Cru is terrific. In this release, the Gastronome has more fruit depth than typical and, consequently, less austerity than these wines can show at times. Creamy and ample on the palate, with terrific vibrancy underpinning the fruit, the Gastronome is sublime.
