Juillet 2020

Great colour and concentration with a distinctive purple rim and hue. On the nose - dark fruited, quite intense and complex with aromas of raspberry and dark cherry, pure black currant then layers of brown spices. No mistaking the energy. The minerality message is quite strong with silty crushed rock suggestions. There’s a fine savoury core alongside the fruit with dried herb and whisper of thyme. On the palate - youthful, tense, loaded with energy and vibrato, fruit flavours reflect the nose, a nut and toasty wood layer then medium+ acidity and polished tannin textures. An excellent example, reflective of a great vintage and worthy of your investment.

Bob Campbell MW, Octobre 2020

Attractively aromatic with floral and berry notes that repeat on the palate, and are joined by ripe stems, dried herb and spicy oak flavours. A backbone of peppery tannins suggest obvious cellaring potential but appealing fruit sweetness makes it accessible now.

Octobre 2021

A perfumed nose of strawberries, sour cherries, raspberries, violets, vanilla and baking spices. It’s medium-to full-bodied with lively acidity and fine tannins. Balanced and compact with a velvety texture and a bright core of fruit on the mid-palate. Long finish. Chewy. Needs a few years to soften, but already impressive.

Septembre 2024 (Millésime 2022)

This 'best of' blend of four vineyards; Cornish Point, Calvert, MacMuir and The Elms, instantly lures you in with aromas of wild strawberry, red and dark cherries and juicy plum tones. Hints of violets, pomegranate, vanilla, star anise, Chinese BBQ shop, mountain herbs and spice. Succulent and finely structured, it's a wine that gives a lot, both in flavour and inherent enjoyment with its infectious, sapid energy and toothsome, fine tannin architecture.

Novembre 2024 (Millésime 2023)

Perfumed aromas of wild strawberries, red raspberries, blood oranges and dried herbs. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins and precise acidity, giving notes of blackberries, potpourri, wet bark, dark cherries and graphite. Finely balanced and refined. Made from a blend of all four estate vineyards.

Février 2020 (Millésime 2020)

Heady violets, undergrowth and spiced sour cherries with vitality and vibrancy through the palate. Sinewy tannins, roasted nut oak tones and nervy acidity hold up the complex, rippling flavours of black cherry, plum compote, autumn leaves and earthy minerals. Bursting with potential; give it time.

Octobre 2025 (Millésime 2024)

Pure aromas of strawberries, orange peel, sandalwood and potpourri. It’s medium-bodied with firm yet fine tannins and a crisp and delicious finish. So attractive now, with just the right amount of tension at the end. From organically grown grapes.

Novembre 2023 (Millésime 2022)

Lovely seductive aromas of perfectly ripe strawberries with fresh flowers and orange. Medium body, very fine with orange peel and cherries as well as stone and hints of bark. Already delicious. A blend of their four vineyards. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification.

Juin 2021 (Millésime 2019)

Generous and juicy wild strawberry, cranberry and spiced cherry flavors start off flashy and mouthwatering, but then settle into a harmonious mix of spicy tobacco, clove and oolong tea, with details of chicory and forest floor that linger on the long, expressive finish.

Erin Larkin, Juin 2025 (Millésime 2023)

The 2023 Bannockburn Pinot Noir is vibrant and spicy, with real energy and pace on the palate. Cherry, cranberry, pomegranate and raspberry converge on a springy base of pliable tannin. The acidity, which is bright, is woven through all aspects of the fruit, and the wine feels exciting and fresh as a result. This is a great wine here. It has full flavor and resolved texture at a moderate alcohol level.

Avril 2022 (Millésime 2020)

The 2020 Pinot Noir Bannockburn is welcoming as well as rich, savory and sinewy, delivering a plump cloud of both lifted and brooding fruit: a portion of whole-cluster fermentation has brought herbal and violet high notes alongside red and black cherry. There's excellent concentration despite this being the entry to the Felton Pinot range, and fine, lightly furry tannins on the medium-long finish.

Octobre 2022 (Millésime 2021)

A hint of smokiness and toast appears first, still with the echo of slight reduction. The fine web of tannins on the palate holds oak as well as surprisingly dark fruit. Very juicy, fruity and bold, this is Felton Road's estate Pinot Noir, with just 25% new oak.

Rebecca Gibb MW, Juillet 2025 (Millésime 2023)

The 2023 Pinot Noir Bannockburn is highly fragrant, exuding florals, raspberries and blackberries. There's a savory, smoky essence which combines with the primary red fruit and rich plum fruit to make a slightly wild finish aromatically. There's plenty of concentration on the palate and layered fruit substance, with more tannic grip than you'd anticipate. You'd normally say drink now for Bannockburn, but I'd allow this a little longer to come around.

Avril 2026 (Millésime 2024)

Mid-deep ruby with aromas of wild strawberry, raspberry and red plum fruits, underlying hints of pomegranate, mountain herbs, exotic spice, bresaola, leaf litter, graphite, wild thyme, meadow flowers, amaro and turned earth. Purely fruited and sporting a predictably sleek palate shape with chewy, schisty tannins, a lovely sense of composure and plenty of mineral drive, fruit depth and intensity. These '24s are looking in song from Felton Road.
