Août 2017

The faintest hint of zesty lemon appears on the nose. The dry palate is of a concentrated slenderness, showing intense notes of ripe lemon zest but hinting at richer notions of ripe pear and candied citron. There is real impact, guided by rapier-like freshness and utter precision. This has an almost cleansing quality but is nonetheless imbued with the fruitful generosity of 2015. Lovely now, but sure to develop.

Juin 2017

A perfect "basic" dry Alsace riesling. Medium-bodied with subtle lemon and pear fruit, and great elegance at the long austere finish.

Août 2018

Wet stone and fresh lemon are faint but distinct on the nose. A pure lemon flavor streaks across the slender, taut palate, with a comet-like spray of freshness. This wine is dry and, if it weren't for juicy glimpses of ripe lemon, would be almost austere.

Août 2022 (Millésime 2020)

Although this is packed with citrus, pear and white-peach aromas, it's so pure and straight that the simple description "fruity" would be far too one-sided to adequately describe what makes this wine stand out. So energetic that it feels much lighter than it really is (13% alcohol). Fine tannins at the finish underline the dry style.

Bring on the oysters! This is so fresh and bright with plenty of apple, pear and citrus to balance the crisp acidity and the minerality that adds so much interest to the finish.

Mars 2023 (Millésime 2021)

An archetypal Alsace dry riesling with a wide spectrum of aromas ranging from lemon and crisp pear to fresh pineapple and candied orange. Very crisp and focused palate with a wonderful freshness that’s hard to resist. Long, ample finish that’s very clean. From organically grown grapes.

Natalie MacLean, Août 2016 (Millésime 2015)

A vibrant Alsatian white wine made from the classic Riesling grape. Lots of juicy, mouth-watering acidity on the palate. Requires, demands, food like seafood and shellfish. Lemon and lime aromas and flavours on this French Riesling. Terrific! Riesling food pairings: Thai seafood noodle salad, duck liver pate, butternut squash risotto, roast chicken.

Septembre 2018

Racy, crunchy, textural.
Dry, with only 2.4g/L residual sugar, this racy Riesling is classic Alsatian: mineral, mineral, and more mineral.
It has a nose of apricot and lemon drops with crunchy green apples. The palate is powerful, dry and textural, with stony minerality and impressive weight and length.

Anne Krebiehl MW, Décembre 2015 (Millésime 2013)

While this has a tight corset of freshness and structure, expressive notes of peach show their exuberance. The palate again reveals tautness, shot through with lemon purity while the peach delightfully plays around them.

Janvier 2023 (Millésime 2021)

The fruit for this estate 2021 Riesling is from numerous villages with limestone, sandy and granitic soils. It is blended every year for consistency - which here means purity and precision. A lovely tangerine hint characterizes the nose with tart citrus intensity; a touch of smoky reduction is still at play. The palate, likewise, is a picture of tart, juicy, mouth-watering citrus. It's straight, focused, slender, yet alive. Riesling lovers will rejoice at this taut and refreshing cuvée. (Bone-dry)

Mars 2017 (Millésime 2014)

Perhaps most representative of Trimbach's house style, this Riesling is wonderfully dry and crisp, with green apple and citrus flavours swiftly followed by a wave of acidity. Mineral notes mingle with just a hint of stone fruit and tropical fruit on the mid-palate, leading into a long, slightly spicy finish. A great example of dry Riesling.

A creamy white, with fine cut defined by firm acidity, this shows finely meshed flavors of pear, smoke, fleur de sel, anise and lemon meringue.

Roger Voss, Décembre 2014

EDITOR'S CHOICE - A wonderfully aromatic wine that’s bone dry, fresh and textured. A steely edge gives a mineral, tight character that emphasizes the youth of the wine. With a dominance of orange and lemon zest, plus juicy acidity, the wine does need a year or two; drink after 2016.

Anthony Gismondi, Avril 2020 (Millésime 2018)

The Trimbach family has been making wine since 1626, and the style doesn’t change much: clean, fresh, dry, and persistent, with a sense of purity and elegance. Brothers Pierre and Jean Trimbach are currently overseeing the house, and put together this family blend from select lots. Look for the styling, as mentioned above, through the dry, wet stone, leesy grapefruit that walks a tight beam of acidity from front to back. Creamy fish dishes quickly come to mind.

Août 2017 (Millésime 2015)

A clean-cut and minerally white that offers poached pear, beeswax, apricot and preserved lemon flavors set in a light-bodied, lithe frame. The creamy finish echoes the stony minerality.
