November 2024 (Vintage 2023)

An exceptionally cool and complex expression of the underrated Steinertal site overflowing with wild-berry, herb and fern aromas plus a staggering wet-stone freshness. Sleek and incredibly focused with a primordial energy that takes your breath away. Decades of aging potential but so exciting now.

May 2024 (Vintage 2023)

The 2023 Riesling Steinertal Smaragd is picked in one of the highest parcels of this site on orthogneiss. Scentedness and grace are clear and bright, represented by lemon and lemon leaf. The palate is exquisitely bright and presents heightened citrus sensibilities; the purest lemon just soars and sings. The palate is slender, bright and vivid, just not as long as last year. This needs time to unfold all of its undoubted elegance. (Bone-dry)
