About this winery

Bodega Noemia was inspired by the discovery of a small plot of old vine, pre-phylloxera Malbec in the Río Negro Valley, where almost non-existent rainfall and incessant breezes make vine diseases virtually unknown. Bodega Noemía was originally a collaboration between Danish winemaker Hans Vinding-Diers and Countess Noemi Marone Cinzano. Together they restored the old vineyard back to life and they purchased a small property to make a small amount of wine for fun. The resulting wine quickly...

May 2018

Hans Vinding-Diers marries 15% from his own vineyards in Valle Azul with 85% purchased fruit from Mainqué to produce this elegant, floral, lightly wooded Malbec. Pure, long and showing considerable finesse, especially for a 90,000-bottle blend.

Extremely perfumed with aromas of blackberry, fresh spices and florals. Medium body, juicy and fruity with round tannins and a delicious finish. A unique Patagonian malbec nature.

Tim Atkin MW, June 2023 (Vintage 93)

Only 15% of this blend of Malbec with 9% Merlot and 1% Cabernet Franc saw any wood, and even that isn’t new, so it’s no surprise that A Lisa is engagingly floral, juicy and appealing. Raspberry, strawberry and black cherry flavours are supported by Patagonian acidity, savoury tannins and a chalky flourish.

July 2018

Bright ruby-red. Slightly wild but vibrant scents of blackberry, raspberry, black pepper, violet and game reminded me a bit of northern Rhône Syrah. Supple, lively and concentrated, conveying a restrained sweetness and Old World savoir faireto its intense but very smooth flavors of smoky dark berries, licorice and peppery herbs. Suave and light on its feet, but also has the energy and dusty tannins for a graceful evolution in bottle. Finishes with captivating notes of violet, black pepper and crushed blackberry. At once riper and more pristine than the 2016 edition. Complex and sophisticated for its price...

November 2022 (Vintage 2021)

The 2021 Malbec A Lisa from Mainqué, Río Negro was 15% aged in barrels. A bright purple in the glass. The nose offers violets, fresh plum, sour cherry and pinches of country herb. In the mouth, it has a tea-like texture with a degree of grip and a finely grained, juicy flow before the flavorful finish, which lingers at remarkable length given the fruity style. This is a red that manages to deliver intense flavor while maintaining a relaxed feel.

February 2023 (Vintage 2021)

The A Lisa from Bodegas Noemia is always an impressive glass of wine, but with the 2021 vintage, we see an exceptionally exuberant expression of Malbec marked by intensely perfumed aromatics and a piercingly vibrant palate. The nose is rich, detailed and opulent with exotic notes of violets, sweet rose petals, black plum, sweet herbs, black cherry and intense layers of sweet crème de cassis with a salty black liquorice graphite hint. Packed full of juicy red and black berry fruits, the palate displays an incredible intensity that really elevates this vintage above previous releases. Sumptuously soft, luxuriously fleshy, there is an alluring brightness, a fruit precision and a tight knit acid focus that makes for a very sophisticated offering indeed.
