Notes about product
Coolshanagh is a celebrated vineyard located north of Naramata between what was the ancient west coast of North America and Okanagan Mountain. Distinct regional flavours emerge from this fertile calcium carbonate loaded soil comprised of fractured glacial bedrock.
As determined by Parra & the winemaking team, the single block of Pinot Noir grapes were hand-picked and separated based on must flavour, vineyard ripeness and site topography, as well as many other factors that are taken into consideration. The picking took place on September 17th 2016 with fermentation over the last few weeks of September and the beginning of October. The wine was fermented using 50% whole cluster in two 600 litre vinification barrels before basket pressing and neutral oak aging.
This textured pinot is abundant in fresh plum flavours, bright acidity and length and a long persistent, mouth-filling finish. The palate shows great depth of flavour and complexity from it’s steep and rocky terroir. A blend of the two small batches create a balanced wine awash in silky tannins.
