About this winery

Located high above the town of Ampuis and the Rhône River, Domaine Jamet produces tiny quantities of stunning Côte-Rôtie. The estate was founded in the 1950’s by Joseph Jamet and he began domaine bottling in 1976. In 1991 his son’s Jean-Luc and Jean-Paul took charge of the business slowly acquiring small parcels to expand the estate. Jean-Luc left in 2013 and today Jean-Paul and his wife Corrine run 7 hectares of beautiful vineyards. The estate is spread across 16 different lieux-dits...

May 2020

Pale yellow. Ripe pear, lemon pith, honeysuckle and a hint of succulent herbs on the perfumed nose. Chewy and broad on the palate, offering concentrated, mineral-tinged citrus and orchard fruit and honeysuckle flavors that firm up steadily with air. Closes on a juicy pear nectar note, with strong, floral-driven tenacity.

September 2021 (Vintage 2020)

Light, attractive fragrance, this is very drinkable. Well balanced with lovely acidity. An excellent vintage for his white Côtes-du-Rhône. There's some intensity here as well as freshness.

September 2019

A generous vintage for this wine, with a gorgeous, lifted lime and orange blossom nose, a touch of jasmine from the Viognier. Good acidity and sense of tension allied with a sapid finish makes for a drinkable style. Very good white option for 2018.

December 2019

Showing more Marsanne character, the 2018 Côtes du Rhône Blanc is another rich, yet also fresh white that displays lots of white flowers, honeysuckle, hints of brioche, and peach aromas and flavors. It's another food-friendly, rounded, supple, beautiful white.

February 2022 (Vintage 2020)

I always love the Côtes Du Rhône Blanc from this estate and the 2020 is another gem. (Production was around 8,000 bottles, so hopefully readers will be able to find some.) Based on mostly Viognier and Marsanne, with some Grenache and Roussanne, it’s a fresh, citrus, peach, and floral white that has medium-bodied richness and depth on the palate. It’s a joy to drink.
