Product notes
The 2017 growing season began very cold, with frost extending well into spring followed by an extreme heatwave in the beginning of summer. The growing season did not begin to balance out until August, where two significant rainfalls brought much needed respite to the plants, lowering temperatures and allowing the grapes to photosynthesize in optimal conditions. September saw a drop in temperatures, with prolonged and sunny days, which encouraged the plants to divert all the necessary nutrients to the clusters in order to obtain a product of excellent quality from the aromatic and polyphenolic points of view. Harvest time brought a very balanced season with gorgeous weather that allowed the grapes to excel, producing a quality wine.
Production notes
To develop superior aromas and texture, the wine undergoes a 15-day cold maceration before fermentation with regular punching down, and is aged in steel tanks rather than oak to retain the grape's fresh, crisp and fruity characteristics.
Tasting notes
Floral and fruity aromas of pear and lemons. The palate is equally aromatic with a persistent finish. Pairs well with seafood, delicately flavored first courses, white meats and grilled fish, but also stands up well to spices, especially in Asian-inspired dishes.

2016 (Vintage 2015)The nose is characterized by firm minerality with a hint of lemon zest. More playful on the palate with ripe stone fruit, pears and orange blossoms, the earthy notes take a back seat to the juicy fruit. Overall balanced and fresh.

July 2018Weighty, slick, harmonious.
I've reviewed this wine a couple of times and I think it's such a wonderful alternative white with incredible personality.
Golden in colour and aromas of lanolin, mineral, beeswax and straw flowers, yellow apples, Meyer lemons and just a hint of herbs. It is weighty and tangy, slick in texture and with excellent concentration. It is harmonious and juicy with a long and clean finish.

Walter Speller, April 2016 (Vintage 2015)Brilliant straw yellow. Perfumed dense yellow fruit nose with hints of talcum. Lemon and tropical fruit on the palate, but not sweet. Well made and apparently a bargain. It is this stuff that should be the ubiquitous Pinot Grigio.
