Jean-Marc Brocard's origins lie in the Côte d'Or, a farmer's son from the village of Chaudenay-le-Château, not even the son of the vigneron. Following his father’s advice Jean-Marc studied Engineering leaving behind agricultural life. On a deeper, clayey soil with a high concentration of heat in summer, the Butteaux gives concentrated, structured and very floral wines, elegance and power make it a typical wine of its appellation.
Firm and bright Chablis with steely, grippy palate, made from organically grown grapes. A toasted wine with grain of salt notes. On the palate, notes of toasted hazelnut, iodized. A beautiful finesse.
Another organic premier cru in the Brocard lineup, Butteaux shows some baked apple characters and crystalline lemon fruit on the palate with good volume and length. Elegant and refined, this will keep very well.
