Tasting notes

Rich, sweet fruit is balanced wonderfully with briary and sweet spices and lovely, silky tannins. A full-bodied, textural wine, showing great complexity with hints of cedar and allspice flowing through to the lengthy, brambly fruit finish.

November 2023 (Vintage 2022)

Shiraz from the epic 125-plus-year-old vines of The Freedom vineyard at Langmeil, just on the edge of Tanunda. Deep crimson with beautifully pure blackberry, black cherry, dark plum and boysenberry fruits. Hints of fruitcake spice, liquid licorice, blackforest cake, violets, roasting meats, olive tapenade and crushed rocks. Deeply textural, with a powerful array of silty tannin, thick-shouldered black and dark fruits and an elegant, deep flow that shows impressive density and length of flavour.

February 2025 (Vintage 2022)

This wine shows great old-vine character coming from vines planted in 1843. Aromas of blackberries, blood plums, mocha, tobacco leaves and ferric earth. The palate is densely packed, with ultra-fine tannins and bright acidity that give layers of complexity. So textural and refined, with a long life ahead. Drink or hold.
