About this winery

Situated in the heart of the Mosel's finest vineyards, the Max Ferdinand Richter estate has been in the family for over 300 years. The family owns 48 acres of priceless vines on the magnificent stretch of the river between Erden and Brauenberg including all the best sites: Graacher Himmelreich, Wehlener Sonnenuhr and Brauenberger Juffer and Richter's monopole Veldenzer Eilsenberg. September 2024 (Vintage 2023)

The 2023 Riesling Wehlener Sonnenuhr Kabinett opens with wet slate and a floral touch of lemon, trailing a hint of reductive flintiness. It's beautifully serene, fine, bright and oh so lemony, swishing along with its light, svelte body and a deliciously lip-smacking finish.

August 2024 (Vintage 2023)

With its effusive aromas of spring blossoms, yellow apples and white peaches, this is a very charming riesling Kabinett. Good tension between the juicy fruit and racy acidity on the sleek, light-bodied palate. The freshness of a mountain stream in the energetic finish.

September 2024 (Vintage 2023)

The 2023er Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Kabinett was made from fruit harvested at 79° Oechsle on 80-90-year-old un-grafted vines and was fermented down to barely fruity-styled levels of residual sugar (40 g/l). This offers a very delicate nose made of vineyard peach, mirabelle, white flowers, whipped cream, and smoke. It is nicely juicy and well balanced on the palate and leaves a reduced feel of fruits and herbs in the long and still subtly sweet tasting finish.
