August 2019

The 2018er Graacher Himmelreich Riesling Spätlese was harvested at a full 94° Oechsle in the prime (“dark red”) Goldwingert sector of the vineyard, and was fermented down to sweet levels of residual sugar (90 g/l). It offers a rather backward nose of mirabelle, vineyard peach, herbs and fine spices. The wine develops the creamy presence of a light Auslese on the palate and leaves a nice feel of ripe orchard fruits in the juicy and comparatively playful finish.
