Production notes

The grapes were placed under a controlled-temperature fermentation for 20 days, followed by maceration. The wine was then aged in used french oak and further bottle aged prior to release for 6 months.

Tasting notes

Intense ruby red colour is the prelude to a full bouquet of ripe cherry and berries well blended with spicy notes that give class and complexity. Full bodied, well balanced and vibrant on the palate, well rounded tannins and depth.

August 2021 (Vintage 2019)

Sweet berries, flowers and cedar on the nose. Some leather, too. It’s medium-to full-bodied with lightly chewy tannins and a long, flavorful finish. Shows tension and brightness. Excellent structure.

December 2019 (Vintage 2017)

A beam of pure blackberry runs through this otherwise dense and focused red. Shows elegance, with balance and complexity, but needs time to integrate and reveal all its facets. Offers fine, minerally length. Sangiovese and Merlot.

June 2022 (Vintage 2020)

A soft and caressing red with a full body and plush, finely woven tannins. Plenty of dark cherry, mulberry, chocolate and some bark. Citrus zest and dried flowers, too. Lightly chewy at the end. 95% sangiovese and 5% merlot. Try in 2025.

December 2020 (Vintage 2018)

A beam of bright cherry permeates this round, supple red. Raspberry, earth, iron and tobacco notes play supporting roles, while dusty tannins prevail on the finish. Sangiovese. Drink now through 2032. 12,500 cases made, 4,000 cases imported. — BS
