About this winery

Tilia is the Latin name for the Linden tree found throughout Mendoza. In Argentina’s wine country, the tree’s leaves are commonly used by vineyard workers to brew a popular, calming tea. Product notes

Tilia seeks to create action around sustainable farming in Argentina and around the world. It is also the first Argentine wine to carry the Bodegas de Argentina Certified Sustainable seal on its label. The Bonarda grapes in Argentina are not the same as the Bonarda grapes in Italy. They are in fact the same grapes known as Douce Noire in France and Charbono in California. Bonarda has become, along with Malbec, one of the signature reds of Argentina. The grapes for this wine come from the Eastern region of Mendoza. The soil and climate there offer a perfect atmosphere for growing Bonarda.

Tasting notes

Intense violet color. Nose packed with dark fruit marmalade and spice flavors. Has a sweet entry followed by soft, round tannins. Bright basil leaves and blueberry flavors that linger on the palate. Pair this wine with the strong flavors of game or the earthy flavors of mushrooms or with both in a dish like Braised Venison with Cremini Mushrooms.
