Avril 2020

This has some fresh, vibrant purple-fruit aromas with a smoothly delivered array of vividly fresh plums and blackberries. Balanced, flavorsome and drinkable malbec.

2021 (Millésime 2019)

From a vineyard planted in the Ugarteche zone about 45 years ago, this wine shows a rather fresh side of malbec in a place that usually offers wines with blacker fruits. This is a vigorous wine with pronounced acidity and very firm, sharp tannins just waiting for a barbecue. It has very good concentration and a finish that recalls violets.

James Suckling, Février 2019 (Millésime 2018)

A generous and lively malbec that marries berry ripeness with herbal freshness. This is a very easy wine to enjoy, thanks to its juiciness and a nice touch of sappy freshness at the finish. Drink now!

Juin 2018

Angel Paulucci has a vineyard that was planted on sandy soils in the Ugarteche zone back around the early 1970s. According to winemaker Estela Perinetti, this vineyard usually gives very big, lush wines-but not in 2016, a cool year that turned Paulucci into a much fresher, more elegant malbec. A good version.

2023 (Millésime 2021)

Paulucci is a producer from the Ugarteche zone with a vineyard planted 45 years ago about 970 meters above sea level. From a warmer area, this shows ripe fruit and herbal notes in a palate that has firm acidity and tannins with good grip for grilled chorizo sausage.

2022 (Millésime 2021)

The Paulucci Malbec hails from a 45-year-old parcel in Ugarteche at the southern end of Luján de Cuyo and is a concentrated, perfumed, supple red with plum and blackberry fruit, vsupple tannins, a twist of liquorice and a tangy, mineral-etched finish.

Mai 2021

Clay-based soils in Ugarteche at the southern end of Luján de Cuyo supply the grapes for this floral, balanced and immediately appealing Malbec from the Paulucci family. Aged in a combination of oak and stainless steel, it has a blackcurrant leaf undertone and a core of bramble and red berry fruit.

Avril 2018 (Millésime 2017)

Brambleberries, violet extract, baking spices, earth and vanilla. Full-bodied and very juicy on the palate, showing lots of dark- and milk-chocolate flavors as well as no shortage of dark plum fruit. Intense, fruity finish, yet this remains fresh throughout.

Stephen Tanzer, Septembre 2019 (Millésime 2018)

Good dark ruby. Crushed blackberry and cassis aromas are complicated by a licorice nuance. Pliant and nicely concentrated, showing a penetrating sweetness as well as sound framing acidity to its red and darker berry and dark chocolate flavors. Spreads out nicely to saturate the palate on the back end, finishing with a broad dusting of tannins and a building floral element. A very expressive Malbec, and a steal for the price. The vines here are reportedly close to 50 years old.

Joaquin Hildago, Septembre 2022 (Millésime 2021)

The 2021 Malbec La Posta Paulucci from Ugarteche, Lujan de Cuyo was 50% aged in 15% new barrels. Purple in hue. The nose offers fresh plum with hints of spice, white pepper and woody aromas. On the palate, it’s rich and expansive with precise freshness.

Sweet fruit with the oak nestled nicely in the background. Acidity is there, offering up a welcome counter balance the ripe fruit. Finish is tannic, but there is some good length here as well...
