Bright light-medium yellow. Sexy, vibrant aromas of mandarin orange flesh and peel lifted by a floral element. Densely packed and glyceral but a bit youthfully imploded, showing terrific inner-mouth energy and lift. Deeply perfumed soft citrus and spice flavors lead to a round, suave, very long finish featuring outstanding energy. Time-capsule Meursault Genevrières.

Outstanding

This too is sufficiently reduced to mask the fruit though discreet spice elements can be discerned. There is excellent volume and mid-palate density to the extract rich flavors that pack very good punch on the stony and surprisingly powerful finish that offers excellent length where the only reproach is a touch of warmth. While this retains the intrinsic refinement of a fine Genevrières, it's bigger and more powerful than usual.

Like several of the wines in the range in 2013 this is distinctly restrained where the aromas of white and yellow orchard fruit, acacia blossom and jasmine tea are subtly marked by a certain exoticism. The equally restrained middle weight flavors brim with both ample minerality and plenty of dry extract. (...)

Then dense and creamy but firm in the mouth, with ripe acidity and dusty extract leavening the wine's ripeness and extending the ripe, sweet, refined finish. Very fresh and complete Genevrieres, and more complex than the Charmes.

This also displays just enough reduction to warrant a good aeration but not so much as to completely hide the discreet spice elements. The gorgeously textured and refined middle weight flavors display a bit more minerality on the opulent yet perfectly well-balanced finale that delivers outstanding length. This is really very stylish and while it should be capable of rewarding up to a decade of cellaring it's not so backward that it couldn't be approached after only a few years of bottle age.

The solidly dense middle weight flavors possess excellent intensity and plenty of minerality while retaining a lovely sense of refinement allied with a sophisticated mouth feel, all wrapped in a cool, linear and well-balanced finale. This restrained effort is an exercise in harmony and this too should amply reward 6 to 8 years of bottle age. Recommended."

An expressive and distinctly spicy nose features naturally exotic notes of citrus confit, apricot and peach. The middle weight and utterly delicious flavors are finer than those of the Charmes with superb punch and detail plus borderline painful intensity. I very much like the mineral streak that adds lift to the clean, balanced and linear finish that is almost delicate. Lovely.

Bright medium yellow. Reticent musky nose hints at citrus fruits, white peach, grilled nuts and butter. Soft, fairly dry, broad and rich; shows more fat than the Charmes but also possesses well-integrated acidity to frame its peach and apricot flavors. In a distinctly dry style, and without quite the early balance of the Charmes. This wine will need some time for its slightly phenolic finish to soften a bit.

(the yield here was just 30 hectoliters per hectare, according to Latour): Rather pale, bright yellow. Alluring scents of peach, lemon, mandarin orange and smoky oak, plus a whiff of almond flower. Very suave on entry, then drier and more closed in the middle palate than the Charmes, but with excellent citrus lift to relieve its salinity. Laid-back, concentrated wine with a fine-grained texture and excellent verve. Really resounds on the salty finish. There's a lot more to come here.

Smoky, cool and elegant aromas are composed primarily of various white orchard fruit, acacia blossom, citrus rind, wood and a hint of exotic tea. The racy, intense and admirably concentrated flavors possess very good volume as well as an appealing minerality that
adds a sense of lift to the sneaky long, balanced and firm finale.

The middle weight flavors possess both a finer mouth feel as well as more minerality though not the same power as this is almost delicate on the cool, pure and admirably well-balanced finale. Lovely stuff.

(from 40+ year old vines from a huge 2.5 ha parcel in Genevrières Dessus). A cool, pure and elegant array of lilac, lavender, lemon rind and green apple scents displays a wisp of exotic spiced tea. Much like the palate impression of the Charmes, the unusually rich and voluminous medium weight flavors completely coat the palate with sappy dry extract which again buffers the firm acid backbone on the focused, complex and beautifully persistent finish where a hint of bitter lemon arises. This is at once lacy and refined yet powerful while also remaining extremely promising - it should amply repay a decade plus of cellaring.

93 Points - Sweet Spot Outstanding

A softly wooded and slightly more elegant nose displays a subtle exoticism on the cool acacia blossom, lemon, Asian-style tea and white fruit aromas. There is a lovely sense of underlying tension to the more evidently mineral-driven flavors that don't possess the same richness or volume but are markedly finer on the highly persistent if ever-so-mildly warm bone dry finish. This isn't quite as fine as the Bouchères but offers slightly better overall depth and persistence.

(the crop level was just 35 hectoliters per hectare owing to losses during the flowering): Bright, light yellow with a green tinge. Captivating aromas of lemon, lime and powdered stone, with riper peach and apricot scents emerging with air. In a gentle, distinctly creamy style and balanced from the start, already conveying sexy sweetness to its fruit-driven flavors of stone fruits and lime flower. Finishes very smooth and long. One feels the evidence of the late-August heat; today this wine seems lower in acidity than the Charmes but it's fat and ripe and should be a popular style. This fruit bomb should benefit from the firming effect of a second winter in barrel.

Like the Poruzots, there is a noticeable phenolic character to the slightly riper aromas of jasmine tea, white peach and floral nuances. The gorgeously textured medium weight flavors possess excellent mid-palate density along with ample minerality that adds a sense of lift to the bone-dry, moderately austere and impressively long finale. This too will need to develop more depth though, if it does, it could well merit the upper end of my projected range as this is really quite stylish.
