The history of the Varnier-Fannière estate dates back to 1860, when the Fannière family began growing grapes and selling them to the Champagne negociant houses. It was only in 1950 that the family started producing Champagne under their own name. In 1989 Denis Varnier took over the vineyards and the house we know today was born. Varnier-Fannière's vineyard holdings are tiny, just 4 hectares of exclusively Grand Cru vineyards in Avize, Oger, Oiry and Cramant. Annual production is 3000 cases...

Le Rosé Grand Cru est une cuvée originale, qui allie la finesse du chardonnay (90 %) à la puissance et au fruité du pinot noir (10 %) du village d’Ambonnay, Grand Cru historique de la Champagne.
Sa robe est parée d’un rose pâle, alliance d’ambre et de rubis. Le nez est dominé par les fruits rouges frais, la mûre et le cassis. Au palais, l’attaque est vive et fait preuve d’un équilibre parfait, rappelant la forte personnalité du pinot noir. Une longue fin de bouche fine et puissante à la fois. Un champagne idéal pour l'apéritif ou pour accompagner les desserts aux fruits rouges.
