About this winery

Duncan Arnot Meyers grew up around wine. His father's best friend was Bernard Portet of Clos du Val, and much of Duncan's youth was spent in Napa Valley. He was mentored by John Kongsgaard and worked side by side with Pax Malhe, Northern California's cult syrah specialist, until June 2008. The "Roberts" in Arnot-Roberts, is Nathan Lee Roberts, second generation master cooper, whose grandmother is Margot Biever Mondavi; Nathan's mother Annie Roberts was executive chef at Robert Mondavi Winery....

February 2016 (Vintage 2013)

The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Fellom Ranch, from a site in the Santa Cruz Mountains, is rich, deep and beautifully textured. Pomegranate, sweet red plum and exotic spices are all pushed forward in a sensual Cabernet Sauvignon loaded with pure appeal. I expect the Fellom Ranch will be the first of these 2013 Cabernets to open up. Even at this early stage, it is very, very pretty. The Arnot-Roberts 2013 Cabernets were all done with 30% whole clusters and aged in 30% new oak.

Antonio Galloni, April 2020 (Vintage 2017)

In 2017, the Cabernet Sauvignon Fellom Ranch melds together racy fruit from the warm growing season with the hillside savoriness that is such a calling card of this Santa Cruz Mountains site. The resulting wine is ample and exotically rich, but also tightly wound and in need of cellaring. Some of the finer nuances are perhaps a bit obscured by the fruit, but that in no way detracts from the wine's considerable allure. The 2017 should be a fascinating Cabernet to follow over the next two decades, perhaps more.

February 2022 (Vintage 2018)

Blackberry, black cherry and baking spice on the nose. Full-bodied with firm, grippy tannins. Dried herbs and spice blend with a bit of cedar and pine. Earthy and savory, but still full of fruit. Well balanced with very good intensity. This will do well with some age.

June 2013

Opaque ruby. Expansive, heady aromas of candied red and dark berries, pipe tobacco, potpourri and licorice, with a spicy nuance that gains strength with air. Stains the palate with sweet cherry-cola, cassis and floral pastille flavors supported by juicy acidity. The spicy quality comes back strong on a finish that features velvety tannins and a refreshingly bitter cherry pit quality. - Josh Reynolds

January 2022 (Vintage 2018)

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Fellom Ranch is the most reticent of the Arnot-Roberts Cabernets. Intensely savory and earthy, the 2018 offers quite a bit of intrigue... Cedar, spice, tobacco and dried herbs lend notable complexity to the dark fruit flavors. The natural concentration of small berries with little juice and high solids gives the wine its dense, brooding feel
