This wine is sourced from the family's historic vineyards in the Agrelo Appellation, a region well-regarded for Cabernet Sauvignon in Mendoza. The appellation´s deep clay soils and moderate climate produce wines that are revered for their robust tannins and smooth, lengthy finish.
The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Catena Appellation Agrelo from Luján de Cuyo was aged for eight months in a third new barrels. Garnet red in hue. The nose offers notes of roasted red pepper, ash and ripe blackcurrant along with hints of spice. The varietal 2021 Appellation Agrelo Cabernet Sauvignon comes from a cooler part of Luján de Cuyo that was planted in 1993 and produces fresher Cabernet. The wine has 13.4% alcohol and is medium-bodied with fine varietal tannins. It matured in new and used barrels for six to eight months, depending on the lot. 48,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in November 2021.
