Jurij Fiore is best known for the wines he has made alongside his father, Vittore, for years at the family’s Poggio Scalette property in the Greve village of Chianti Classico. Several years ago, Jurij started restoring old vineyards in Lamole, one of the newly appointed UGA’s (Unità Geografiche Aggiuntive, or Additional Geographical Units) in Chianti Classico. Lamole is 9km south of Greve and over 1100 ft higher in elevation. Jurij is working with his daughter, Sara to produce an extremely limited amount of bottles, split between 4 Chianti Classico’s and an Alta Valle Delle Greve IGT white field blend. Under 600 bottles are made of each ‘micro area’ Chianti Classico. The vineyards from where Porcacciamiseria, Nonlosò, Puntodivista and Lassù are sourced from are certified organic. The winery received organic certification in 2021 and will be reflected on the label of the 2021 vintage. Some of the vineyards from where Sonocosì is produced are certified organic and some are in conversion Jurij learned winemaking in Beaune and his love of Burgundy is certainly reflected in his wines.

Reviews for this winery

Vinous

These are the first wines I have tasted from the new project Fiore is leading with his daughter, Sara, in Greve’s famed Lamole district. Based on what I have tasted so far, Jurji Fiore & Figlia is easily one of the most exciting and promising new projects in Tuscany.

The Jurij Fiore & Figlia portfolio includes various expressions of Sangiovese with quirky names like "holy cow" and "I don't know." His wines are excellent, and I encourage you to seek them out, with a warning, however, that his production is very small.
