MARC MOREY

Bâtard-Montrachet Grand cru 2014

Like the Pucelles soft reduction still allows the white orchard fruit and floral aromas to be appreciated. There is a highly seductive and sappy mouth feel to the overtly powerful and well-concentrated big-bodied flavors that are lush to the point of opulence though there is absolutely no trace of heaviness on the balanced and sneaky long finale. While this imposing effort should reward extended cellaring it should also drink well young thanks to all of the dry extract.

About Burghound.com

Burghound.com is the result of a nearly lifelong passion for the wines of Burgundy. For more than 30 years, I have been collecting the wines and visiting the region. Each year I spend nearly five months visiting, researching, tasting, exploring and evaluating. Burgundy is my obsession really. Expanding on my coverage of the coveted pinot noir grape, each issue provides continuous coverage of both Oregon and California pinot noir, with rotating coverage of Champagne and occasional special reports from other pinot producing regions.
