Note: from a whopping 2.02 ha parcel, which effectively means that the Domaine owns 89% of the appellation; because the other owner does not declare the wine under En Virondot, Mollard has what she jokingly calls a "commercial" monopole
Producer note: Sabine Mollard was uncharacteristically effusive about the 2014 noting succinctly that "I love this vintage and in particular its transparency and purity. The reds are good but the whites are great. I chose to begin picking on the 12th of September and harvested under pretty much perfect conditions save for one rainy morning. The fruit was both clean and ripe so there was very little sorting necessary. The potential alcohols were in the 12.5 to 12.9% range which is ideal for what I want to make. Yields were also very good without being excessive. I really like this vintage and would happily sign a contract now to have this level of quality every year." The whites were bottled between August 2015 and January 2016.

About Burghound.com

Burghound.com is the result of a nearly lifelong passion for the wines of Burgundy. For more than 30 years, I have been collecting the wines and visiting the region. Each year I spend nearly five months visiting, researching, tasting, exploring and evaluating. Burgundy is my obsession really. Expanding on my coverage of the coveted pinot noir grape, each issue provides continuous coverage of both Oregon and California pinot noir, with rotating coverage of Champagne and occasional special reports from other pinot producing regions.
