LATOUR-GIRAUD

Meursault Cuvee Charles Maxime 2017

- 88 points -

(from the Domaine founders of Charles Giraud and Maxime Latour – the fruit derives from multiple lieux-dits that include Les Corbins, Le Cromin, Les Chevalières, Les Crotots, Les Vireuils, Les Pelles, Le Limozin and Les Malpoiriers). Here too there is a whiff of petrol to the pretty aromas of acacia blossom, hazelnut and essence of pear. On the palate there is also fine volume to the caressing and attractively textured medium-bodied flavors that possess good fat while exhibiting fine length on the balanced finale.

About Burghound.com

Burghound.com is the result of a nearly lifelong passion for the wines of Burgundy. For more than 30 years, I have been collecting the wines and visiting the region. Each year I spend nearly five months visiting, researching, tasting, exploring and evaluating. Burgundy is my obsession really. Expanding on my coverage of the coveted pinot noir grape, each issue provides continuous coverage of both Oregon and California pinot noir, with rotating coverage of Champagne and occasional special reports from other pinot producing regions.
